Interior designer breaks the mold and does what no one before her has dared to do...start a blog

All joking aside, welcome to my blog!! Do people still read these? I guess we’ll find out. Anyway, I’m Abigail aka Abby, and I’m an emerging designer chasing her dreams in Chicago. At the moment I’m running a full service boutique interior design studio serving Chicago and beyond while also holding down my 9-5. The goal is to become a full time designer, so if you’re here and reading this, tell your friends and fam to hire me! ;)

For months I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog so that I can share the behind the scenes design goodness which often requires more in-depth discussion than what social media allows. It’s also the perfect opportunity to use that Journalism degree which has been waiting YEARS to be put to professional use…oops!

If you found me via Instagram, you may already know that I live in a historic row home in Chicago, and that I still have to pinch myself to remind myself that this is indeed my real life and not a dream. You might also know that my partner and I were in negotiations with our landlord about buying the row home, but the deal broke down at the last minute…to say I was heartbroken at the time is an understatement! So alas, we are renters in my dream home. However, limitations are the mother of invention, and it turns out that getting innovative about how to design this home around rental constraints has enabled me to stretch my proverbial creative legs and hit my stride.

So what will this blog be about? Great question!! I think it will mostly center around my home and how I’ve approached its design as well as some of the unexpected DIYs I’ve done that had a major impact. I also plan to share links for design items that I loveeee, and I maybe even a little about life here and there! Anyway, thanks for tuning in, and I can’t wait to share the journey with you!
